Our longspan shelving is always a very popular hand loaded storage option due to its strength, simplicity and versatility. Whether you need a small single bay to fit in a spare corner or multiple runs of five metre high archive storage, we can find a solution for you using this shelving system. This warehouse storage system comes with everything you need. The upright frames are supplied assembled, with footplates attached and including levelling plates and fixing bolts to secure it to a concrete floor. Each shelving level comes with horizontal beams (with beam locks), chipboard shelving and support bars to ensure the maximum load capacity can be achieved. 430kg (uniformly distributed load) is the minimum each shelf will take, making this shelving suitable for almost every hand loaded storage scenario. Drop over steel shelves are available for food storage or where regular cleaning is required, and we can also supply garment rails for this type of shelving.

If you’ve got some really heavy non-palletised items, or just need to add picking levels to your existing bays, we can also supply used pallet racking with timber or wire mesh decking levels that can take up to 3 tonnes (uniformly distributed load).

Warehouse racking and heavy duty shelving

Warehouse racking is often used to store palletised goods, with the pallets sitting straight on the racking beams. However, there are a number of decking options available, either to support the weight of old or sagging pallets, or to act as a shelf for heavy duty hand loaded storage.

We can supply quality used pallet racking with either open or closed boarded timber decking (open boarded has gaps between the slats, closed boarded has no gaps) to suit any size or manufacturer of industrial racking. We also have large stocks of wire mesh decking in standard 900mm and 1100mm depths (other depths can be made to order). This decking is suitable for all makes of pallet racking (Dexion, Redirack, Link 51, Apex etc.) and is usually ready for dispatch from stock in only 2-3 days from ordering.

Longspan shelving for hand loaded storage

We have thousands of bays of brand new longspan shelving in stock, suitable for all hand loaded, non-palletised storage areas. This strong and versatile system is easy to put together and can be delivered in as little as three working days. It looks very much like a scaled down version of pallet racking, with upright blue frames and horizontal beams, but the beams have a “z” profile to create a lip which secures a chipboard deck in place. Support bars under the chipboard means that most shelves can take a uniformly distributed load of over 500kg.

Upright frames are supplied assembled, with footplates attached and including fixing bolts and levelling plates. They can be up to 5000mm high, and with depths ranging from 400mm to 1200mm this medium duty shelving system is suitable for all sizes of hand loaded goods. We have beams from 950mm to 2700mm in length and they are always supplied with 2 beam locks.

Chipboard decks (and support bars) are the standard shelf for this system, but we can also supply steel shelves if required.

Like a scaled down version of pallet racking, longspan shelving has upright frames and horizontal beams, but the beams have a Z profile which creates a lip to hold the chipboard shelf in place.
